Overview of Research Degrees Examination Management (RDEM) in eVision
In Michaelmas term 2025, Research Degrees Examination Management (RDEM) in eVision was launched to better support the management and administration of postgraduate research student examinations.
The introduction of the RDEM has also enabled the implementation of the updated Policy and Guidance on Research Degrees which came into effect on 12 October 2025.
The project has now formally closed and support for the system and business processes have transferred to the relevant teams. If you need support with any aspect of the system or process, please refer to the following guidance:
• Guidance on Research Examinations: Education and Student Support - Research student exams
• Using the system in eVision: Education and Student Support - eVision User Guides and Quick Reference Guides (QRGs)
If you still need help, please contact the appropriate team:

• Student Systems Team: student.systems@admin.ox.ac.uk or 01865 (2)84848

RDEM in eVision is used by the Research Degrees Team (RDT), PGR students who will submit their thesis via Student Self Service, Examiners, Graduate Administrators (GSA's), Payroll and the Print Room.
Using a single integrated platform brings collaborative efficiencies to the teams who manage the examination processes.
