  BSF / Caiasoft terms
Ingest to CSF   Creating a new record in Caiasoft for a book or object sent to the CSF Accession
Return to Oxford Permanent departure of a book or object from the CSF Deaccession
Accession Process by which an object becomes legally part of a museum collection  
Deaccession Formal process to remove an object from a museum collection and dispose of it  
Item as defined in barcoding strategy Free-standing object or a box of objects - the unit that moves Item
Container in some of the CMSs Box containing objects Item
Pallet Tray or pallet on which books, objects or boxes of objects are housed within the racking in the CSF Container
Item flag Book or object handling information contained within Caiasoft (e.g. heavy, hazard) Item flag
Stored on shelf Book or object sitting directly on shelf (not in a tray or on a pallet) Direct to address
Updating location Recording location of book or object in Caiasoft Scan to shelf
New location Location to which a book or object is retrieved (temporary or final) Stop
Retrieval     Retrieval of book or object from its permanent storage location in the CSF for a reader / visitor Pick
Return     Return of book or object to its permanent storage location in the CSF once reader / visitor finished Re-file
Retrieval and return Retrieval of book or object for a reader / visitor and return to storage location once finished with Circulation job
Retrieval and return Manually creating a pick or re-file job Ship job
Re-locating in the store Moving a book or object from current permanent storage location in the CSF to new permanent storage location in the CSF Move job
